Jose Luis Acanda is a Martial Arts trainer dedicated to delivering consistent service to his students. He was born in Cuba in 1980 and developed interest in sports at a young age. Later, he was trained by the elite Cuban Sports Federation in Olympic-style tae kwon do. In 2004, he moved to the United States and worked in the US Tae Kwon Do College in Tysons Corner, VA, for two years. Jose was 4 times national champion while playing for Cuba and was also a Virginia state winner. He also ran a martial school in Virginia for around eight years and taught Martial Arts to a large number of students.

Jose Luis Acanda is highly admired by his peers as well as students for his outstanding Martial Arts skills. Jose says that he is in love with his job and finds it immensely rewarding to teach Martial Arts to young students. He is proud of his student’s achievements in the field of Martial Arts and also takes great pride in his own dedication to delivering consistent service to his students every day. He wishes to see more parents do tae kwon do with their kids and set a positive example for them. According to him, Martial Arts training sessions have a constructive impact on the students.

Jose Luis Acanda is inspired by many great people. However, one whose advice always motivates him to walk on the right path is his principal trainer in Cuba, Mr Joaquin Palacios. The latter advised Jose to always do right things and help out people in whatever way he can. Joaquin’s advice is also one of the reasons why Jose has always been involved in some sort of charity work at every point of his life. At present, he is involved with many charitable organizations and supports them by donating money as well as his precious time.

Jose Luis Acanda likes to spend time with his loved ones, when he is not teaching martial arts to his students. He also likes to read different types of books. One of his all-time favorites is “Rework”, a book by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson. Besides reading, what keep him occupied during free time are his hobbies, like – paintball, running, camping, and dancing. Regardless of his work commitments, Jose does not overlook his personal life and always devotes time to the activities he enjoys.
